The Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat (APP) held its first of the four annual Gambhars in memory of Late Padamji Anklesaria on 1st October 2016 at the Lalkaka Hall, Parsi Sanatorium Grounds, Ahmedabad. APP Gen. Sec. Er. Aspi Unvala conducted the proceedings of the evening.

The evening began with a Khushali-Nu-Jashan by six mobeds led by Er. Aspandiyar Dadachanji and his son who demonstrated how the Boi Ceremony is conducted in an Atash Behram. Er. Dadachanji, who has performed Boi at three of the eight Atash Behrams, explained the difference between the Atash of a Dadgah, Adarian and an Atash Behram. Since the Vakil Adarian of the APP will be undergoing substantial renovations, he also kindly offered his services to the Panchayat.

Next, APP President Brg. Jahangir Anklesaria honoured Er. Dadachanji with a shawl as a token of appreciation. Er. Aspy Unwalla gave a vote of thanks and invited all for dinner. As the menu of three of the four Gambhars is vegetarian, a Gujarati thali was served to around 500 people .
