For over two decades now, one of our Community’s leading philanthropic organisations, the World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust Funds or (WZO Trusts) has been distributing food grains every year when to poor and needy Zoroastrians living in the villages of South Gujarat. This year, donors contributions for this initiative, amounting to Rs. 18,00,000/-, has enabled them to distribute essential food grains to 280 poor Zoroastrian families spread across 49 locations! Team WZO Trusts and volunteers visited each of the 49 Centres to distribute the packages.
Food grains and utility items distributed in the villages this year, include Wheat (15 Kg); Moong (5 Kg); Chana Dal (5 Kg); Masoor (5 Kg); Moong Dal (5 Kg); Toor Dal (10 Kg); Groundnut oil (15 litres); Tea (1 Kg); Sugar (2 Kg); Sholapur charsa (1 Pc); Towels (2 Pcs); Napkin (3 Pcs); and complimentary from Colgate – Tooth Paste (2 tubes) and Tooth Brushes (2 pcs). These food grain quantities would suffice the need of each family for at least two to three months.
The 49 Centers where the distribution has been done are: Dholikui, Vyara, Dholiumar, Songadh, Zavda, Zavda(Vyara), Sadad Devi, Chunawadi, Waghai, Bardipada, Chichpada, Vangan, Chikatia, Mankunia, Choravani, Bopi, Kaparia, Shirishpada, Mahuvas, Chasmandva, Kevdi, Surat, Borkachchh, Sara, Dharampuri, Pardi, Damka, Navsari, Vandarwela, Surat Bhatha, Dapada, Karchond, Karchond(P), Arnala, Barai, Chival, Zaria, Makadban, Khergam, Karajgam, Jawahar, Gandeva, Vanarasi, Sanjan, Dhahanu, Lachhakdi, Vansiatalav, Khambhala Zapa and Manpur.
