BPP Elections Will Be Contested By Five Candidates

The Bombay Parsi Punchayet has so far declared five candidates who will vie for the coveted seat of Trusteeship in the forthcoming BPP Elections, which will take place next month, on Sunday, the 1st of July, 2018. The following are the five candidates:

ANAHITA DESAI Anahita Desai is the wife of the current BPP Chairman, Yazdi Desai, and had earlier contested the BPP Elections in 2011 against Munchi Cama and lost in a one-to-one election. Of the total 8,644 votes that had been cast, Anahita received 3,510 votes, or approximately 41% of the votes.

 



Xerxes Dastur hails from Rustom Baug and is a prominent Chartered Accountant, having successfully taken over his family business from his father. Xerxes had earlier contested the BPP elections in 2015, coming in at No. 7 in a contest for 5 Trustee seats. Of the total 9,853 votes that had been cast, Xerxes received 2,995 votes, or approximately 30% of the votes. 

 

RATAN PATEL Ratan Patel from Godrej Baug will be contesting the BPP Elections for the first time. He is a retired businessman

 

 

KERSI SETHNA Kersi Sethna had earlier contested the BPP elections in 2016, and had NOT signed the Voluntary Code Of Conduct. Of the total 5,101 votes that had been cast, Kersi received 16 votes, or approximately 0.3% of the votes.

 

 

ERIC DHATIGARA Eric Dhatigara had earlier contested the BPP elections in 2016, and had NOT signed the Voluntary Code Of Conduct. Of the total 5,101 votes that had been cast, Eric received 61 votes, or approximately 1% of the votes.
