Jamshedpur’s J H Tarapore School Wins Gold Eduexcellence Award

Jamshedpur-based J H Tarapore School, recently won the Gold award, in ‘The School Eduexcellence Awards – 2021’, in the category of ‘Co-Scholastic Activities’. The J H Tarapore School was inaugurated in 2002, in honour of J H Tarapore, the founder of Tarapore & Co., with the aim of imparting quality education to Jamshedpur’s youth and making them confident, compassionate and competitive to face life’s challenges through value-based learning. As part of its philanthropic mission to provide free education to girls from low economic backgrounds, the Tarapore Balika Vidyala (TBV), a Hindi-medium school, was also started on 14th November, 2002 (Children’s Day).

Located in the heart of the town at Dhatkidih and sporting a scenic view of the Beldih Lake, the school initially started as a co-educational institution but in keeping with the realisation that girls were being deprived of admissions due to the pressure for admission of boys, it was decided to change it to a ‘Girls School’ from 2004, in keeping with the vision of the school.

Earlier, the J H Tarapore School bagged the prestigious ‘International School Award (2018-2021)’ for the third time, due to its sustained efforts, covering seven different international activities in the framework laid out by British Council, successfully collaborating with 4 international schools worldwide. The school has now been re-accredited International School Award recipient, for the period 2018-2021, for adding an international dimension to its curriculum.
