Holy Vibrations

“If you wish to understand the Universe, think of energy, frequency and vibration.” – Nikola Tesla

When we celebrate festive occasions, we put Rangoli and garlands on the door, we light divas, we cook delicious meals, we invite our loved ones and we visit the Fire Temple and offer sandal wood and divas. We bring out our best crockery and cutlery, the nicest vases hold colorful blooms, the prettiest tablecloth adorns a table groaning with festive delights! How wonderful is the atmosphere at home! The perfume of the flowers mingles with the fragrance of the loban and sukhad, creating a heady mix that fuels divine fervour!
Those of us who host the Haft Seen table bring even more delight with the bunches of fresh mint, the paneer, the sugar-coated almonds, the mirror, the falooda, the dry fruits and all assorted paraphernalia of the Navroz Table. We have a steady stream of friends, relatives and neighbours coming in to pay their respects and partaking of the divine blessings of the season.
A lot of time, effort and planning is put into all of this. The rewards we reap are those of an abundance of colourful laughter and deeply gratifying cheerfulness. Now, the challenge is to sustain the same bonhomie, the same brightness and the same delight, all year through. This is a process that requires discipline and planning. Like all good things, success is a planned event!

“All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together.” – Mark Planck
Try this simple experiment. Take a rudraksha seed and suspend it on a string. Now, hold it absolutely still, over a pile of used newspapers or crumpled clothes or an old undusted showcase / cupboard or a shoe cabinet. Now release the string. You will observe that the seed moves anti-clockwise. Now repeat this process by doing the opposite. Hold it over a pile of neatly washed and ironed clothes or some clean sheets or an arranged cupboard. You will notice that it moves clockwise! I am not trying to prove the vibratory power of a rudraksha, that, is amply demonstrated and written about in all ancient scripture. I am simply trying to prove that all objects, whether animate or inanimate, have and emit a vibration.
If we wish to optimize the vibrations of our environment, we cannot celebrate a festival every day. What we can do is be mindful about how we live. The most important way forward is to ruthlessly, absolutely and irrevocably, remove everything that we do not use, or have not used in the past year or may not use in this lifetime. We unnecessarily burden ourselves by keeping stacks of old newspapers, redundant documents, empty packages, clothes, plastic bags, bottles, et al. We cannot move forward and the energies in our home will stagnate if we keep on hoarding unnecessary stuff. Sometimes, we have to let go of the past, for it has neither use nor relevance as of today. Clear the clutter, because the vibrant, lively, positive energy that we seek around us needs space to come and grow.
Spring cleaning your mind of old mindsets, old grudges, old peeves and old sorrow, is almost as vital as cleaning your aura and your outlook. Here we must lean heavily on the strength of our prayers. Conduct a Jashan in your home for renewing and strengthening the atmosphere. As the vibrations of this prayer resonate in your home, it will make sweeping changes in the vibrations that surround you. It is most important for every member of the family to ritually do the kusti at least twice daily – once in the morning and once before bed. Recite the Sarosh Baaj immediately after and just observe the change in your demeanor. This simple daily practice will imbue you with a renewed strength and vitality!
May this Jamshedi Navroze bless your home with the brilliance of love, the light of understanding and the aura of deep prayer.

An Ode To Prayer:

“I prayed for change, so I changed my mind,
I prayed for guidance and learned to trust myself,
I prayed for happiness and realized I am not my ego,
I prayed for peace and learned to accept others unconditionally,
I prayed for abundance and realized my doubt kept it out,
I prayed for wealth and realized it is my health,
I prayed for a miracle and realized I am the miracle,
I prayed for a soul mate and realized I am the One,
I prayed for love and realized it is always knocking, But I have to allow it In.”
– Rumi
