Friya Jijina Wins Silver In Judo

The 14-year-old martial arts prodigy, Friya Jijina, won a Silver Medal in Judo at the ‘Khelo India School Games 2018’ held at Indira Sports Complex, New Delhi, 7th February, 2018. Participating at the National Level, Friya won the second position Under-17, minus 63 kgs. A student of Dadar Parsee Youth Assembly (DPYA) High School, Friya began training in martial arts at the age of one and won her first Gold medal at the age of four at the Inter Club Competition held at NSCI in 2007. With the help of parents, Kamal and Khushnoor, both black belts in Judo themselves, Friya has won numerous recognitions in various martial art competitions and currently trains in Mushtido, Boxing and Grappling, along with Judo. With a little bit of self-discipline and superb judo techniques, coupled with the constant support of her school’s principal and teachers, Friya is currently training to represent her school, state and country at International Martial Arts Competitions.
