Dr. Rumi Beramji Awarded ‘Doctor Of Literature Honoris Causa’

On 3rd June, 2017, eminent Parsi Acupuncturist, Dr. Rumi F. Beramji was conferred the highest honour of degree – the ‘Doctor Of Literature Honoris Causa’ through the Zoroastrian College under the OIUCM, at an international conference organized by All India Shah Behram Baug Society (for Scientific and Educational Research), an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC, at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, Mumbai. He was also honoured with ‘(Late) Dr. Anton Jayasuria’s Award’ in appreciation of his pioneering work in promotion of Acupuncture, and for getting a separate ‘Acupuncture System Of Therapy Bill’ with the approval of President of India, for recognition of Acupuncture in Maharashtra State Legislature. Maharashtra has become the second state after West Bengal for enacting the ‘Acupuncture System Of Therapy Bill’ in April 2017, twenty years since the first bill was passed in West Bengal. His wife, Dr. Yasmin Beramji was conferred the prestigious ‘Global Co-Operation Award’ for her exceptional services for health in establishing the Beramji Hospital. The conference was attended by the Consul-General of Hungary, Consul-General of Islamic Republic of Iran, Vice Consul V Dementiev, Director Russian Centre for Science and Culture  and Madam E Kotlyar, wife of Dy. Consul-General of Russian Federation in Mumbai, Padmashri Dr. Vijaykumar Shah, amongst other dignitaries.
