On 1st November, 2016 Nowroze Baug Play Centre (NPC) celebrated its 71st year with a jasan organised by the Managing Committee at the MJ Wadia Agiary (30th October, 2016). The Play Center held an entertainment programme on 12th November, 2016 with music, games and a scholarship distribution ceremony for Parsi students from the colony and outside, at school, college, post-graduate and proficiency studies, donated by Dinshaw Mehta who attended the programme along with BPP Trustee Armaity Tirandaz, Prof Rohinton Sahuraja, BPP PRO Godrej Dotiwalla, Percy Siganporia, Rohinton Mehta and Hormuz Mehta.

Homi Ustad, President of NPC introduced the Chief Guest, Errick Elavia, Principal of Lady Engineer High School who further motivated the students. School toppers Roshny Munshi (ICSE) with 97.40%, and Mehrzad Tatary (SSC) with 94.20% were awarded Certificates of Merit and a Silver Medal each. Benaz Contractor was awarded a Silver Medal for performance well in TYBCom. Other toppers awarded Silver Medals include Spenta Surti (Std II), Keahn Kanga (Std VII), Kaizeene Modi (Std IX), Jehan F. Navdar (ICSE -90.60%), Mozanne Modi- (HSC Commerce – 91.08%), Tinaz Doctor (HSC Commerce – 91.08%), Pashmin Dee (HSC Science – 68.62%).

Winner of the Rotating Trophy donated by Shirin and Vispi Bulsara in memory of their father Late Bahadur Sorabji Bulsara was awarded to Jehan F. Navdar – ICSE. The programme concluded with ‘Chahiye Hame Zarthosti’ and our National Anthem, followed by dinner catered by Tanaz Godiwalla.
