XYZ’s Lively Summer Camp

Xtremely Young Zoroastrians (XYZ) organized a week-long, fun-filled Summer Camp, from 1st to 6th  May, 2017, for children aged four to sixteen years. Held simultaneously in Thane, Andheri, Bandra, Dadar and Colaba, the first day commenced with children interacting with their team mates, creating team names, logos and yells and playing dodge ball. The second day had the children from Colaba visiting the fire brigade station and learning skills that would aid them during fire emergencies, while the other groups enjoyed fitness with dance and zumba workshops. The post lunch activity required the children to talk in Gujarati on topics allotted to them, which was not only interesting but also impressive, followed by a ‘Tent Pitching Competition’ and rounds of relay. 3rd May had the participants from all areas gather at Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana grounds to play ‘Crickball’, a fusion of cricket and baseball, which saw twenty teams competing in several rounds with each other through the day.

XYZ kids put their culinary skills on display on the fourth day, with a particular colour being the theme for their dishes with an evening dedicated to games. The final day commenced with a ‘Langdi Competition’, followed by indoor workshops. Different groups had activities like charcoal painting, pencil shading, quilling and bead work, that highlighted the hidden talent within young Zoroastrians.  Parting with innumerable memories and numerous friends, the XYZ Summer camp concluded with over two hundred and fifty participants enjoying a resort trip to Panoramic Resort, Panvel.
