WZCC (Pune) organised a ‘Member’s Night’ on 20^th July, 2017, to discuss ‘Roles of relatives in critical care – Effective Communications, informed consent and end of life decisions’ –  addressed by  Dr. Kayanoosh Irani Kadapatty. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Chairperson, Mahrukh Bharucha, followed by Viraf Deboo highlighting the role of WZCC. Dr. Kayanoosh then took the stage and discussed the functioning of an Intensive care unit that changed people’s perspective on the urgency of prompt response, life, death and the functioning of our body. She covered the basic issues that afflict cardiac arrest and stroke patients, infection risks in the ICU and the need for clear communication between patients’ relatives and doctors. Information on CPR and other critical measures were covered in brief, followed by a question and answer round. Compered by Vice Chairman, Khushru Minocherhomji, the evening concluded with dinner.
