PL 2018: Kolkata Overpower Rajasthan: Power packed performances from Robin Uthappa (48*), skipper Dinesh Karthik (42*), and Nitish Rana (35*) helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) register a seven wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Jaipur. Batting first, RR registered 160-8 in their allotted 20 overs. D’Arcy Short top scored with 44 while skipper Ajinkya Rahane contributed a vital 19 ball 36. For KKR, Nitish Rana snapped up (2-11). In reply, KKR cruised to victory in style reaching 163-3 in just 18.5 overs. Amongst the RR bowlers only Krishnappa Gowtham was able to pick two wickets. Nitish Rana was awarded the Man of the Match.

Parsee Gym’s Thrilling One Run Win In Salar Jung: Outstanding batting from Aakarshit Gomel (unbeaten 65 off 53) coupled with Manish Rao’s (3-25) with the ball led to a nerve-wracking one-run-win win for Parsee Gymkhana against Police Gymkhana, thus sealing their spot in the finale of the 69th Salar Jung Community Invitation Cricket Tournament 2018. Batting first, Parsee Gym made 173-5 in 20 overs.

India End Campaign On A High Note: India’s Saina Nehwal defeated PV Sindhu in straight games 21-18, 23-21 to grab the gold in the women’s singles category. Sindhu got the silver. Kidambi Srikanth won the silver defeating 19-21, 21-14, 21-14 in the gold medal clash by Lee Chong Wei. India finished with a total of 66 medals which included 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze.
