IHRC Assigns Merzin Pardiwala President Of Crime Prevention Dept

The International Human Rights Council (IHRC), the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights, has assigned Merzin Pardiwala, as the President of the Crime Prevention Department, in keeping with his long-standing dedication as an active IHRC council member devoted to helping victims of domestic violence, hit and run cases, as also the under-privileged and common man harassed by those in power.

Merzin earlier held the post of President of Statistic Department at IHRC. Having dedicated over a decade to social service and community work, Merzin recently declared his candidature to contest the Legislative Assembly elections, representing the Malabar Hill constituency of South Mumbai. Speaking to Parsi Times, he said, “I am truly grateful and honoured that the prestigious Council has shown such faith in me. This recognition further empowers my drive of standing by my community members and my fellow Indians and fighting for justice. I solemnly swear to keep up the good work I have been entrusted with.”

By focusing international attention in areas where human rights are violated, IHRC lends a voice to the oppressed and holds oppressors accountable for their crimes. Its rigorous, objective investigations and strategic, targeted advocacy builds intense pressure for action and raises the cost of human rights abuse. For years, IHRC has worked tenaciously to lay the legal and moral groundwork for deep-rooted change and has fought to bring greater justice and security to people around the world.
