TATA Redefines Hospitality During Pandemic

As a number of Hospitality chains across India have started taking the initiative to come to the aid of healthcare providers and the community at large, during the Pandemic, not surprisingly, leading the charge is Tata Group’s IHCL. For over a week now, IHCL has opened the doors of its numerous properties, helping the medical fraternity by providing them accommodation and food, allocating rooms at the iconic Taj Mahal Palace, Taj Lands End, Taj Santacruz, The President and a number of hotels from its ‘Ginger’ brand in Mumbai, Madgaon, Noida, Bhubaneshwar, Faridabad, Bangalore, Uttarakhand and Chennai.

In addition to giving accommodation, IHCL also provides free meals to medical staff in key hospitals in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi, after a tie-up with chef, Sanjeev Kapoor. The initiative that started on March 23, 2020 will continue till April 14, and has already distributed over 1,30,000 meals (till 9th April, 2020). The company has also provided over 1,55,000 meals to migrant workers in Mumbai over the past week. It will continue to feed them during the lockdown.

Offering citizens the opportunity to contribute and support this noble venture, the TATA Group released the following statement on Social Media:

“To ensure that the health of those taking care of us is never compromised, @TajHotels and @SANJEEVKAPOOR are working together to provide meals to the medical staff on duty at the hospitals. You too can support this cause by contributing here: http://bit.ly/2USzHOy #ThisIsTata.
