NCPA Spreads Festive Cheer Through The Performing Arts

NCPA has reopened with abundant caution and advisory measures in place. For Western Music lovers, The SOI Chamber Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, Bartók’s Rumanian Folk Dances, and more, at 7:00pm on Thursday, 2nd December at the Tata Theatre.

Saturday, 4th December will feature a free online NCPA-Citi Music Workshop on ‘Understanding Intricacies of the laya-tala’, at 11.30am, with renowned tabla player, Suresh Talwalkar. The evening will feature CITI-NCPA Aadi Anant: From Here to Eternity, at 6:30 pm at the Tata Theatre, with eminent sitar player – Shujaat Khan, Amit Choubey and Sapan Anjaria on tabla, with a classical performance.

The Lehman Trilogy will be screened on 8th December at 5:00 pm at the Godrej Dance Theatre. Two other plays will also be staged – A Fistful of Rupees – an English/Hindi play, on Saturday, 11th December at 7:00 pm and the second play, Massage – a comedy Hindi play featuring Rakesh Bedi, on Sunday, 12th December at 7:00 pm at the Experimental Theatre.

“Why is rasa the centre of the performing arts?” This question will be discussed at the Workshop on Rasa Theory & Practice by Mandakini Trivedi,   well-known Mohiniyattam dancer, on Thursday, 9th December from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm at the Experimental Theatre.
