On 25^th December, 2023, the Asha Vahishta Dadgah Saheb in Pune celebrated the completion of its sixth year of enthronement of the Holy Fire, entering into its seventh year. A thanksgiving Hama Anjuman Jashan was performed by five Mobeds, followed by collective Humbandagi prayers by the gathered devotees. A contributory Maachi was also offered to the Dadgah Saheb in the Havan Geh. As always, the Dadgah hall was packed with devotees. Post the Jashan, the devotees partook the Jashan offerings of fruits and malido.

Over the last six years, Asha Vahishta Dadgah has fulfilled the religious and spiritual needs of inter-married Parsis and other Zoroastrians. It is a place of worship and venue solely for Zoroastrian social and religious ceremonies, such as navjotes, weddings, Jashans, Maachis, and the four day obsequies funeral prayers for those who opt for burial or cremation, which even non-Parsi family and friends can attend.

In keeping with Asha Vahishta’s main aim of ‘inclusion’, it has been providing a dignified alternative to Parsi/ Irani Zoroastrian families who were discriminated against from entering other Zoroastrian religious places of worship, with a special focus on inter-married Parsi population, including non-Parsi spouses, to ensure that a family is able to worship together, as a family.
