On the cool, sunny morn of 11^th February, 2024, over 300 children, with enthusiastic parents and volunteers, gathered at the Avabai Petit School which was hosting the tenth edition of the XYZ Athletic Meet 2024.

Commencing with a Humbandagi and an athlete’s lap of honour around the ground, participants, from 2 to 25 years of age, geared up for the day’s mix of track and field events, sporting group-coloured T-shirts and the new ‘XYZ 10 Years’ cap.

Categorized into XYZ Juniors, Under-10, Under-13, Under-17, and XYZ Seniors, sporting activities included 50m, 100m, and 200m races, shot put, sack race, marble-and-spoon, book-balancing and relays. The excitement peaked during the Tug-o-War, with spirited efforts culminating in Ketayun’s Conquerors emerging victors. Parents too participated in races, amidst much cheer. Even volunteers and parents partook of the relay race, adding to the fun and competitive spirit.

Two special races commemorated XYZ’s 10-year celebrations – the 10-Legged race – where nine participants, with one leg collectively tied to form ‘10 legs’, navigated a designated path; and the Ex-Presidents race – featuring former XYZ presidents competing in a fun relay.

Following lunch, the final races were held, and medals and certificates were distributed by the Executive Committee after a total of 162 races, spanning 8 hours! The Athletic Meet concluded with prize distribution, declaring Ketayun’s Conquerors as winners, leading the XYZ Points Table in 2024.
