The Legacy Of Mancherji Edalji Joshi Memorial Trust

Established in 1980, the Mancherji Edalji Joshi Memorial Trust has flourished into one of the leading Trusts within Dadar Parsee Colony and Mumbai in our Community.  Registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, the Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra State and Income Tax Act, 1961, the Trust issues an 80G certificate of exemption under the Income Tax Act, to all its donors that support the various social initiatives undertaken by the Trust.

Since inception, the Trust has undertaken various Fund Raising Drives, the proceeds of which are utilized towards various charitable objects of the Trust, including Educational Aid, Medical Aid, Poverty Relief, Housing Relief to families residing in the interiors of Gujarat through the good offices of World Zoroastrian Organization Trust Funds, Summer Camp, Beautification of Mancherji Edalji Joshi Statue, Matrimonial Bureau, Sports and Food Scheme, and more.

What started as a door to door collection drive has culminated into a healthy Corpus of the Trust, which is invested in approved securities, and only the interest thereof is utilized towards these causes. Accounts of the Trust are audited yearly by the auditors M/s M B Daruwalla & Co.  All statutory tax returns are filed on a regular basis with the Income Tax Department as well as the Charity Commissioner, Greater Mumbai, Maharashtra State.
