In a surprise turn of events on the 21st of September, 2016, at the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, the advocate for Dinshaw Mehta announced that they would not be filing the application for Dinshaw Mehta to be brought on record in the said case.
In keeping with providing our readers the latest updates on the much hyped court case which took place on the 8th of September, between complainant BPP’s ex-Trustee Khojeste Mistree and The State Of Maharashtra, for reopening the investigation into the alleged cash transaction of the Dadi House Controversy, which if reopened could allegedly have Ex-BPP Chairman facing multiple charges including Cheating under Section 420 and Criminal Breach of Trust under Section 406.

An untoward scuffle broke out right outside the court premise where BPP Trustee Kersi Randeria was physically assaulted by Dinshaw Mehta and his son Hormaz Mehta. Randeria was attending the court case due to a resolution passed by the BPP Board on the 6th of September, 2016 authorizing him to participate in the court proceedings of the said legal case on behalf of the BPP. Readers will recall that on the 8th of September, Mehta’s advocate had argued that Dinshaw Mehta be allowed to intervene in the matter. Upon this request, the Hon’ble Judge had insisted that the application be filed that very day within an hour. It may be noted, that on the same day, the police had filed a detailed report and requested the court that they be allowed to reopen and reinvestigate the case.

However the fracas that took place outside the Court resulted in the Judge adjourning the matter to the 21st of September, 2016, for filing the application, instead of within the stipulated hour, as per his earlier order. However, when the matter was called out in court on the 21st of September, Mehta’s advocate informed the Court that they were not filing the application anymore and would accept the Court’s orders in the matter.
The matter has now been kept for orders on Monday, the 3rd of October, 2016.
