16-year-old Hoshmand Freddy Elavia, studying at Mumbai’s Wilson College (SYJC Arts) navigated his way through some rough waters to achieve the runner-up position in the Senior Category of the Indikarting Pro Karting Race, which was held at Ajmera Indikarting (Wadala, Mumbai), on 25^th May, 2024. Hoshmand participated in three races, securing second, first (reverse grid) and second positions, respectively, culminating into the over-all runner-up position.

Hoshmand has been racing since the age of eight and has been training since 2016 with the famous ‘Rayo Racing’ Indikarting, known to have created numerous world-class racing champions, including the Formula 2 champ – Jehan Daruvala. Earlier, Hoshbam secured the Runner-up position in the Professional Cadet category at the JK TYRE Indikarting National Championship in 2016 and was crowned the Junior Champion in the Pro Karting Championship, 2022.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Hoshmand shared, “I would like to thank all my sponsors, coaches and the engineers who are collectively responsible for my success.” When asked about his future plans, he says he looks to study Sports Management and be associated with the Motorsports field, as well as plan to coach new drivers.

Indikarting gokarting is one of the most widely practiced, 4-wheel motorsport and is considered as a stepping sport into racing.
