Kings Overpower Knights: Rahul Tewatia (2-18) and Mohit Sharma’s (2-24) spectacular spell saw Punjab thrash Kolkata by 14 runs in an exciting clash in Mohali, keeping alive play-off hopes in the IPL 2017. Kings X1 notched up 167-6 in their 20 overs courtesy good knocks from Skipper Maxwell (44) and Wriddhiman Saha (38). Rahul Tewatia made 15 in 8 deliveries. Chris Woakes and Kuldeep Yadav snapped up 2 wickets each for KKR. In reply, KKR’s Chris Lynn tried his best with a top knock of 84, but it wasn’t enough, as they were bundled out for 153-6. Mohit Sharma was Man of the Match.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Clinch Victory: Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 62  and speedster Siddharth Kaul’s magnificent bowling spell of 3-24 ensured a comfortable victory for team SRH, beating Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. Batting first, Mumbai managed a paltry 138-7 in 20 overs as skipper Rohit Sharma scored a good 67 off 45 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 key wickets. In reply, SRH cruised to victory with Moises Henriques scoring 44. Dhawan picked up Man of the Match.

Jhulan Goswami Creates World Record As Highest Wicket Taker In Women’s Cricket: India’s Jhulan Goswami became the leading wicket taker in ODIs, surpassing the world record of Cathryn Fitzpatrick’s 180 wickets. Jhulan now has 181 wickets in 153 matches.

Premier League Results: On 6th May, Manchester City beat Crystal Palace by a 5-0 margin, AFC Bournemouth and Stoke City drew their encounter 2-2 and Burnley too had a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion. Sunderland won 2-0 with Hull City while Leicester City emerged victorious with 3-0 V/s Watford. Next day Arsenal beat Manchester City with 2-0. On 8th May Chelsea defeated Middlesbrough 3-0.

 

HOCKEY

India Wins Bronze In Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: India emerged victorious again in the Hockey circuit beating New Zealand 4-0, to win the Bronze medal in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Tournament in Malaysia. Rupinderpal Singh played exceptionally to help Team India clinch victory.

Eugenie Bouchard Wins In Madrid: Eugenie Bouchard beat opponent Maria Sharapova7-5, 2-6, 6-4 for the first time in five meetings in round two of the Madrid Open recently.
