IndiKarting Podium for Hoshmand

10-year-old racer, Hoshmand Elavia, finished second at the recently concluded ‘IndiKarting Pune Go-Kart race’ which comprised over 126 participants across India. A student of St. Mary’s ICSE School (Mumbai) and a resident of Godrej Baug, Hoshmand’s weekend began with an excellent performance in the qualifying round. Hoshmand had a good start in Race 1, before he misjudged a wet piece of track to spin out from the lead, however, he recovered well, finishing second. With Race 2 being the reverse grid race, Hoshmand started up from second last and went on to win the race. Race 3 saw Hoshmand start on pole once again, but unfortunately being slightly heavier, he finished in second place. Hoshmand finished the weekend with a tally of 26 points, to finish Runners-Up behind Ranvir on 28 points. Hoshmand, who represents Rayo Racing, has won 4 races and had a total of 12 podiums in the National Series and was crowned the Vice Champion of the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Hoshmand said, “I enjoyed racing on the IndiKarting Pune track. I made a mistake while leading in the first race and that cost me the overall victory. I enjoyed overtaking and winning the second race. I have to work hard and make sure that I do not make mistakes in the future and I am learning all the time. I really want to thank my sponsors and all those who are supporting me and specially my parents, for all their support.”
