On 22^nd February, 2020, the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI) held its ‘Annual Fest ’20’ at Cama Baug, in Mumbai – as a Fund-raiser, to sustain and boost its numerous charitable ventures. Known as one of our community’s leading philanthropic organizations dedicated to uplifting the plight of the underprivileged, ZTFI’s comprehensive and diverse altruistic activities have played a huge role in helping sustain the livelihood and care-taking of hundreds of community members.

Jimmy Mistry – Chairperson and Director, Della Group was the Chief Guest for the program, who came along with his charming wife, Delna, alongside other dignitaries who graced the evening, including ZTFI Trustee and eminent social worker – Arnavaz Jal Mistry; Parvez Damania, Mickey Mehta, BPP Chairman Yazdi Desai and wife Anahita, ZTFI Trustee and BPP Trustee – Kersi Randeria, Doongerwadi Manager and Committee Member – Vistaspar Mehta, amongst many others.

Compared by Vistasp Gotla, the evening started on the noble and auspicious note of the Navjote ceremony of girl-child Jennifer Billimoria, facilitated by ZTFI, which was performed by the Mobeds of Rustam Framna Agiary, headed by Er. Kaizad Karkaria, thanks to the efforts and guidance of ZTFI Trustee and eminent social worker, Arnavaz Jal Mistry.

Entertainers – Viraf Daruwalla and Tushna Bhesania, had the crowd on their feet as they sang melodious Bollywood classic songs. This was followed by a round of Lucky Draws, where members from the audience won great gifts! A short, 3-minute audio-visual presentation, prepared by Er. Kaizad Chinoy, illuminated the success and efforts of ZTFI’s ten year journey, as the constant and humble redeemer of the community’s underprivileged members, bringing succor and smiles to the face of all – the young and the old, with their multiple programs including the monthly Feed-a-Family Program; Medical Aid; Monthly Monetary Scheme; Educational Aid; Senior Citizens Support, Matrimonial and Youth Programs.

The highlight of the Annual Fest was the felicitation of four eminent community members who have excelled in various fields – namely, Anahita Yazdi Desai – honored for Commitment to ‘Community Service’; Dr. Rumi F. Beramji – honored for his contributions in the field of ‘Alternative Medicine and Acupuncture’; Khurshid Mistry – honored for ‘Excellence in Sports’; and eminent ophthalmologist – Prof. Dr. Keiki Mehta – honored with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ Award.

Next, were the much-awaited Personality Contests – where contestants participated across four categories – ‘Mr. Personality’; ‘Ms. Personality’; ‘Best Dressed Couple’; and ‘Best Dressed Child’. Judged by Mickey Mehta, Parvez Damania and Jimmy Mistry – amidst much entertainment and laughter as senior ladies tried to woo them with their dancing to popular Hindi songs!

The evening was filled with more melody as the community’s ace singer – Cyrus Dubash took the stage and regaled the audience with his melodious voice, belting out English classics, with the audience requesting an encore!

ZTFI Trustee and the driving force of the organization – the dynamic and beautiful Yasmin Mistry gave the vote of thanks, thanking the sponsor, donors, ZTFI well-wishers, with special mention of two very generous donors – Farida Palkhiwala and Firuza Nagla, who had, that very evening, donated a total sum of Rs. 10 lakhs, to the ZTFI to continue its +excellent work for the community.

The evening concluded with a sumptuous dinner catered by Tanaz Godiwalla, which had all the 625+ attendees satiated, as they returned home after a fun, entertaining and meaningful event, brilliantly conducted by Team ZTFI!
