Meheryar Rivetna Authors ‘Zarathushtra: The Man And The Message’

Meheryar Rivetna, from Houston, USA, has authored and published ‘Zarathustra: The Man And The Message’, written with the aim to dispel myths of the Zoroastrian religion, providing historical context of how the changes that took place in the religion in comparison to the original founding principles of Prophet Zarathustra.

Topics covered include myths surrounding Zarathustra’s birth and early life, expansion of the religion, the concept of God in the Zoroastrian faith, the meaning of heaven and hell, etc. It also offers an exegesis of Zarathustra’s inspiring words in the Gathas, supported by evidence based on the works of eminent scholars in the field. In addition to religious matters, the book highlights the influence of the Zoroastrian religion on other faiths as well as the impact of Zarathustra’s teachings on Western civilization – which is often overlooked.

A retired biochemist, Meheryar Rivetna resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife, Zubeen Mehta. To keep himself mentally engaged post retirement, he started studying the Zoroastrian religion, exploring it beyond the practice of rituals and conventionally held beliefs and to study the original teachings of Zarathustra.
