Farrokh Billimoria Establishes ‘Naju And Keki Billimoria Scholarship’

USA-based, Farrokh Billimoria, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at Green Leaf Capital, has established the ‘The Naju and Keki Billimoria Scholarship’, for the underprivileged Parsi youth of India who wish to pursue a college education. This endowment will award up to 4 years in scholarships to Indian students who have no means of paying for their education. Students applying to Engineering, Medical, Law or Pharmacy colleges are eligible for the scholarship.


The two Eligibility Criteria include:


(i) Students would need to be admitted to a college in India to be considered; and


(ii) Family’s annual income should be Rs. 2.5 lakhs or less.


This scholarship will be managed by Foundation for Excellence (FFE), which has awarded over 70,000 scholarships over the last two decades and has a proven process for screening and selecting candidates.


The following is the Application Procedure:



  1. Candidates should apply online at the FFE Site: www.ffe.org. The window to apply is September 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.



  1. Candidates should also follow up with an email sent to: scholarships@ffe.org indicating that they are planning to apply for ‘Naju and Keki Billimoria Scholarship’, along with their Name in full and contact information (Email, Address and Tel. no).



  1. Candidates are encouraged to also follow up with a call on: (+91) 88615 01155 / 080 2520 1925 to indicate that they are applying for this scholarship.


Candidates graduating from orphanages are especially encouraged to consider applying for this opportunity. All community members are requested to share and publicize this opportunity as much as possible, as this could make a huge difference in the lives of Parsi youth who have the talent and the intelligence to achieve academic greatness, but are held back due to financial constraints.

Farrokh Billimoria has set up this generous endowment in perpetuity, in honour of his parents – Naju and Keki Billimoria – after who the Scholarship has been titled. He prioritizes education as the game changer which secures the future of both – the individual as well as the nation, and credits his educational journey for his successes and achievements.

He commands comprehensive professional experience in the real estate sector, having shared his expertise earlier, as Founder of ‘Mynt Capital’, and Co-founder of Artiman Ventures, a $165,000,000 fund. Prior to this he was a General Partner at the Sprout Group (CSFB Venture affiliate) and a Wall Street Analyst at Hambrecht & Quist (now JP Morgan/H&Q). The Wall Street Journal has ranked Farrokh Billimoria as an All-Star Analyst for several years.

Farrokh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune, India and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Steven’s Institute of Technology, as also the Executive Management Program at Stanford University. He was on Stanford University’s Fulbright Screening Committee for the Fulbright Scholars Program and has served on the Advisory Council for Stanford Business School and the School of Engineering. He is on the Advisory Council of the Clinton Initiative / AIF (American India Foundation) Fellowship program, and was on the board of trustees of the College of Engineering Pune India and has served on the Board of the Indian Community Center (ICC) in California.
