Religious Course Re-Start At M J Wadia Agiary

April 6, 2008 marked the inception of the ‘Structured Religious Course’ at the M J Wadia Agiary Hall, conducted with the aim of exploring and sharing knowledge about our glorious Zoroastrian religion.  The brain-child of Trustee Kersi Limathwalla, this course is backed by the community’s leading religious scholar and priest, Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia, as its Course Director. There was much joy expressed by the 120 participants who attended the course, having restarted after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Er. Dr. Ramiyar Karanjia attributed the overwhelming bonding and affection among the participants to the power of prayers. Seniors, who could have attended the class online via Zoom, preferred to show up in large numbers to hear Er. Karanjia share his wisdom on the  topic, ‘Avan Yasht’. A question and answer session followed the same.

Floral tributes were offered to Er. Karanjia by the Falak Sam Cooper who has been a crucial part since the start. Trustee Limathwalla was felicitated by Katy Karanjia – silent supporter of the course, and mother of Er. Karanjia.

The wait is finally over for our community members who have missed these classes due to the pandemic. The classes will be held at the same venue, on the first Sunday of every month. So, be there on 1st May, 2022, to get incomparable insights into our religion in an atmosphere of camaraderie and warmth. Those wishing to attend can register yourselves with Roxane Desai on 9819379345 and all payments (for physical class or Zoom) would be issued to the Trust. For details, contact Freddy Tukina on 98202 49599.

And there’s good news for children too – after nearly two years, the ZoroKids Classes for children will also resume physically from May 2022, with a field trip to Banaji Atash Behram to express gratitude to Ahura Mazda. If your children are not registered, send in an email to zorokidsclass@gmail.com to register them, along with complete details including the child’s full name, age and parent’s name and contact details.
