The finale of The Cusrow Baug United Sports & Welfare League’s (CBUSWL) annual Badminton Tournament (14^th edition), took place on 7^th October, 2023, amid much enthusiasm from the residents. Spread across multiple weeks, the tourney comprised 69 participants across 20 categories – with the youngest participant aged 9 years.

The Chief Guest for the finale and prize distribution was Mangirish Palekar, who represented India in the 1998 Asian Badminton Championship and was former Captain of the Maharashtra Team. Great talent and the spirit of sportsmanship, egged on by the support and encouragement of family and friends, ensured grand success for the tourney. Some of the winning titles and winners included: ‘Best Player of the Tournament’ – Piroze Katrak; ‘Best Player of the Tournament (Juniors)’ – Meherzad Bulsara; ‘Mens Singles’ – Jehan Daboo; ‘Ladies Singles’ – Benaifer Katrak; ‘Family Doubles (Parent & Child)’ – Ness and Varun Buhariwala; and ‘Veteran Singles’ – Rustom Mody

CBUSWL felicitated principal sponsor – Farida and Hoshang Jal for continuing to sponsor the event across 7 years now. A dinner post the prize distribution ceremony concluded the event.
