The Surat Parsi Panchayat (SPP) organised a fun Vacation Coaching Summer Camp which rejuvenated the summer holidays for over 172 children, who thoroughly enjoyed various activities including skating, dancing, gymnastics, cricket, volleyball and football.
Students from the SPP managed schools – namely Sir J J English School; Sir J J Primary English School; Bai P M Patel Primary Girls School; and Bai P M Patel Girls High School partook of this summer camp which was held over two weeks, from 15th to 29th April, 2024. Of the 172 participants, 18 were Parsi children whose camp fees were entirely refunded.
Kersey Deboo – Vice Chairman – National Commission for Minorities, presided as the Chief Guest for the grand closing ceremony of the camp, alongside other special guests including Advocate and Social Worker – Dara Deboo, SPP President – Dr. Homi Dudhwala and Trustees – Padmashiri Yazdi Karanjia, in the presence of Dr. Parsis Mevawala, Kashmir Dordi – CEO and CAO, supervisors and teachers.
Dr. Homi Dudhwala presented a token and mementos, felicitating the dignitaries and the coaches of the summer camp. Certificates and prizes were given to all players who participated in the summer camp. The camp was successfully organized with the support of SPP Board President Dr. Homi Dudhwala, the Trustees, and the camp’s in-charge, Dayak (Athletics Coach), with the assistance of Jamasp Patrawala.
