It’s indeed a proud moment for the Dadar Parsee Youths Assembly High School as two of its students – Kayomarz Dhabhar (Class IX) and Kimaya More (Class VIII), who had appeared for the International Space Olympiad, came out on top, winning prime spots. While Kayomarz stood First in Maharashtra in the Senior Category and Seventh internationally, Kimaya stood first in the All-India Junior Category, in the International Space Olympiad, which was organised by Edu Mithra Intellectual Services Pvt. Ltd.
25 students were selected from across the world and winners were invited to the USA to pursue a 3-day Certificate Program conducted by NASA, in the Kennedy Space Centre, where they were trained to live and work on Mars, along with Astronaut Training Experience. They attended the Astronaut Training Program, featuring ‘Zero Gravity Experience’ and were given a tour of the Kennedy Space Centre, as well as a memorable visit to the Apollo Space Centre, in which real artefacts of the Apollo Capsule, Saturn V, were displayed along with real life simulation.
They also visited the Smithsonian National Zoo and the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Centre, which displayed Concorde and Prototypes Space Modules and Drones. At the Smithsonian Museum, they caught a glimpse of the Space Shuttle Program. Their visit to the White House was spectacular too – a great, exciting experience for both students. At the end of the program, they received a certificate for completing the Astronaut Training Experience from the Kennedy Space Centre.
Here’s congratulating DPYA for nurturing excellence and encouraging talent; and wishing Kayomarz and Kimaya the best in their future endeavours.
