ZWAS Holds 2-Day Festivity Extravaganza!

On 3rd August, 2024, the enterprising and dynamic ladies of ZWAS (Zoroastrian Women Assembly of Surat) held a 2-day festivity extravaganza for Surat’s Zoroastrian children, who wowed all with their talent and fervour. The participants gathered in the serene ambience of Pak Kadmi Atashbehram Hall, where the ZWAS ladies too were all geared to take the excitement to the next level, under the leadership of President Mahazarin Variava, Secretary Daizy Patel, and Trustees Maharukh Chichgar, Dilnaz Besania and Piloo Bhathena, alongside hosts – Delzeen Bavaadam and Aazmin Besania.

A Prayer competition marked the auspicious start, with judges – math wiz – Er. Sarosh Dastur and Er. Meherzad Turel, Panthaki of Goti nu Adaryan, Surat. The winners were Naira Kasad, Yazaan Shroff and Rezina Shroff (3-5 years); Yazaan Variava, Delfryn Jokhi and Vaspan Ankleshwaria (6-8 years); and Pashan Elavia, Meherzad Shroff and Sheryl Siganporia (9-12 years). This was followed by an informative Religious Quiz competition curated by Maharukh Chichgar and conducted by Dilnaz Besania. The first day ended with an entertaining Antakshari Competition which had even the audiences joining in and singing their favourite melodies.

The next day started with participants showcasing their creativity in the Chalk/Rangoli, Umbrella Decoration and Card Making Competitions, which truly impressed all. This was followed by the Ratan Marshall Elocution Competition where participants displayed much confidence and intelligence. Special prizes were handed out in memory of Late Shirin Vakil, Late Manijeh Chichgar, Late Percy Peshotan Chichgar, Late Mehernosh Karanjia and Late Dinaz Karanjia to children who  participated in all events across both days – namely Vivan Ichhaporia, Delfrin Jogi, Nayra Kasad, Kiaan Coachman, Freyana Bharucha, Yona Dapotawala and Rhea Jungalwala.

Pearl Contractor then conducted a fun session of 1-Minute Games which marked the conclusion of the 2-day gala event. Kudos yet again to ZWAS for their proactive community initiatives, which inculcate the best of Parsipanu in the new gen!
