Pune’s Sir J J Agiary Gets New Panthaky – Er. Porus Sinor

Pune’s 179-year-old Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy Agiary held a Jashan in honour of its newly appointed Panthaky, Er. Porus Gayomard Sinor, on 6th October, 2024. The Jashan ceremony, marking the passing of the Panthak mantle post the retirement of Er. Kaipashin Raimalwalla, was led by Panthaky Er. Porus Sinor, alongside mobeds: Er. Dastoor, Er. Hormuz Patel, Er. Ardaviraf Sinor, Er. Vispi Karkaria, Er. Nevile Karkaria, Er. Kayomarz Adajania, Er. Jamshed Karkaria, Er. Adi Bhandari, Er. Cyrus Bhadha, Er. Farokh Karkaria, Er. Kaipashin Raimalwala, Er. Noshirwan Dastoor, Er. Faredoon Pundole and Er. Lashkari.

The hall of the Agiary was packed with devotees from Pune, Mumbai and Gujarat participating in this historic occasion. Chasni was distributed to all post the Jashan.

Sir J J Agiary, which is centrally located in the busy Camp area of Pune, comprises a spacious Main Hall, a Prayer Hall and separate Dadgah and Muktad Rooms. The Agiary’s Baug is also a popular venue amongst the city’s Parsis – with almost 30-40 weddings and Navjote ceremonies being hosted here each year. Also located within the compound is an air-conditioned Banquet Hall and a plush 6-room residential facility, called Maneck Baug.
