ZTFI Celebrates ‘Circle Of Kindness’ – 15 Years Of Community Service

20th October 2024, saw one of the community’s leading non-profit organisations, the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI), celebrating 15 glorious years of community service. In typical ZTFI fashion, this major milestone was commemorated by showing gratitude and offering thanks to all their donors, without whose largesse, it would have been challenging for ZTFI to do all their good work of helping the less privileged members of the community, month after month, year after year.

ZTFI’s various philanthropical initiatives were highlighted by the dynamic team of Trustees – Arnavaz Mistry, Yassmin Mistry, Kersi Randeria and Xerxes Master. Held at the Matunga Gymkhana, the celebration began with the founder of the ZTFI, Kersi Randeria thanking all those present, volunteers and donors, for their continued support. The organisation, which had initially started with distribution of notebooks to school children from underprivileged families, has now blossomed into an NGO which serves the community in numerous ways. As ZTFI’s dynamic and trailblazing trustee, Yassmin Mistry, pointed out, the ZTFI has initiated programs that provide for nutrition, healthcare and foster unity in the community while upholding our cultural heritage.

There was much cheer during the cake cutting ceremony. A video montage succinctly showcased ZTFI’s 15-year ‘Circle of Kindness’ journey of consistency, perseverance and unwavering commitment to making a real difference in the lives of innumerable community members, especially the less privileged ones. It was no surprise to see a special Message Board Corner overflowing with heartfelt messages by donors, showering appreciation and reinforcing their faith in ZTFI.

Through their Feed-a-Family initiative, the ZTFI distributes monthly rations to over 350 families. Some of ZTFI’s main initiatives include providing annual financial support and medical aid for the needy, youth-centric assistance for tuition fees and boosting entrepreneurship, hosting Navjote functions of Zoroastrian children from lower income families, relatively new launches like the ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ initiative which addresses the pressing issue of Mental Health and the ‘Make My Day’ initiative where beneficiaries can choose from options like a visit to the 4 Atash Behrams, grooming, watching a movie etc. which bring them fulfilment and immense joy.

Yassmin introduced the ZTFI team who work tirelessly, giving their time and efforts for this blessed community service. Many donors, stalwarts of the community, chose to remain anonymous, and at the event were felicitated with a ‘Circle of Kindness’ memento and a fragrant candle. The evening saw our Zoroastrian tenets of ‘Good Thoughts, Good Word and Good Deeds’, being put to good practice. As one of the invitees rightly remarked, “It is easy for us to write a cheque, but the actual ground work takes time and effort, which the ZTFI team truly deserves credit for!”

The eve concluded with a sumptuous dinner and much camaraderie with an aim to further fortify ZTFI’s ‘Community First’ projects and initiatives. ZTFI welcomes community members into the ‘Circle of Kindness’ – to join as volunteers or donate to make a positive impact on our less fortunate brethren.
