A’bad Parsi Panchayat Organizes Matrimonial Meet

The Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat (APP) organized a matrimonial meet at the Parsi Sanatorium on 7th and 8th December, 2024, garnering attendance from 15 female and 52 male participants, from across India. The meet commenced with a Humbandagi led by APP Trustee, Kety Daruwala. APP President, Brig. Jahangir P. Anklesaria, VSM welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of marriage in keeping with the community’s disproportionate birth and death rate.

Kety Daruwala spoke of the need for such meets in view of our dwindling community, and guided participants about choice of partner, sharing successful examples of former participants who were awarded as ideal couples. Activities were also conducted to facilitate ice-breaking and interaction between participants, including group discussions on various community issues, which garnered much response. Ariz and Jasmine Bokdawala conducted group games. Participants were taken to Riverfront Park for some one-on-one time, which was followed by a dance and dinner.

More activities and group games were conducted to facilitate the participants’ better understanding of each other on day two which saw the event close, amidst much hope that some participants may have found their better halves through the matrimonial meet.

Kudos to APP and its team of volunteers (Ariz and Jasmine Bokdawala, Hoshang Karanjia, APP Jt. Secretary Minnie Patel, Kainaaz Munshi, Benaifer Sethna, Pervin Ichhaporia and Ashish Majra) for organising a much-needed community event!
