Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr. Aspi N Raimalwala and his team were awarded first prize by the BMC for performing highest number of Male Sterilisation (or NSV) for 2024-2025. Having performed 1,146 cases of NSVs from February 2022 to January 2025, Dr. Raimalwala is the Chairman of the Department of Family Planning and Vasectomy center, managed by Indian Medical Association (IMA), Mumbai Branch. The award was given by BMC’s Dr. Daksha Shah, Executive Health officer alongside Dr. Santosh Gaikwad and Dr. Vaishali Chandanshive from the Family planning Dept.

Dr. Raimalwala has earlier been the recipient of awards including the IMA President Appreciation award multiple times, Lions clubs awards for community service and the ‘Corona Warrior’ award.
