Udvada took a major step towards sustainability as the Clean & Green Udvada Trust (CGU) inaugurated three solar panels worth ₹6.30 lakh, generously sponsored by Concast (India) Pvt Ltd., with special acknowledgment to Dinyar Edulji of Concast (India) Private Limited, whose steadfast support played a pivotal role in bringing this visionary project to fruition.
While Concast (India) also donated ₹5.40 lakh for school stationery and backpacks, while Tata Power contributed ₹25 lakh towards a microgrid at a local dumping site, addressing a long-standing electricity shortage. These initiatives will significantly cut electricity costs for streetlights and ensure an uninterrupted power supply for the village’s composting machine, reinforcing Udvada’s commitment to sustainability.
The inauguration ceremony was led by the esteemed Vada Dasturji Tehmton Mirza, who symbolically launched all four verticals, in the presence of the Trust’s Co-founders – Zarine Bharda and Filly Bapuna. Filly Bapuna delivered an inspiring speech on the Trust’s commitment to environmental preservation. Sarpanch Dharmendra Patel and Deputy Sarpanch Sarosh Irani expressed deep appreciation for CGU’s efforts, highlighting its annual ₹9 lakh contribution to waste management. They also urged the Trust to expand solar installations further. Contributions toward this noble endeavor are warmly welcomed, and interested individuals are encouraged to connect with Neville Velati on 9833333388.
This milestone underscores the Trust’s vision of transforming Udvada into a model eco-friendly community, inspiring collective action for a greener future.
