Khurshid Scores A 3-Gold-Medal Hattrick In Swimming!

Khurshid Mistry continues to make waves in the swimming world, winning accolades in quick succession, with her relentless pursuit of excellence. A former veteran marathoner and sprinter, she had to discontinue her pursuits on foot due to a knee injury. But she has resurfaced to conquer and set higher benchmarks in aquatic challenges – having won three gold medals at the 7th National Masters Games 2025, held in Rourkela (Odisha), on 7th and 8th March, 2025, organized by Masters Games Foundation (Odisha), with participants included veteran athletes from across India.

This 3-gold-medal haul is her third so far, making it a hattrick, with her earlier two 3-gold-medal wins at the ‘National Masters Swimming Championship, 2024’ (Nasik, October 2024) and the Maharashtra State Masters Games Championship 2024 (Nasik, December 2024).

Her shimmering medals boast of her wins in the 50 metres Free Style, Breast Stroke and Back Stroke categories, under her age bracket. Sharing her joy about her latest triumph, Khurshid beams, “It’s been a great experience to swim in an Olympic Size Swimming Pool for the first time… I took up another sport as I cannot run presently due to my injury, and I am very happy I am performing so well!”

Starting her athletic journey at 44, Khurshid Mistry defies limits and serves as an inspiration to the entire community. A financial sector professional by day and a record-breaking athlete by passion, she holds a Guinness World Record in marathon running and was crowned ‘Best Female Athlete’ at the 2015 National Corporate Championships. With an unstoppable spirit, Khurshid has proven her prowess over both – land and water, proving that greatness knows no age. Kudos to her un’wave’ring commitment to excellence!
