The Zoroastrian Community of New Zealand ushered in the observance of the auspicious Parabs through a Jashan and celebratory Ghambar, on 2nd March, 2025, at the Foroud Shahlori Dar-be-Mehr, in Auckland, New Zealand.
The Jashan, performed by dedicated Mobeds – Er. Khushroo Master, Er. Bakhtiyar Engineer, Er. Kaizad Engineer and Er. Behzad Karkaria – provided the perfect opportunity for community members to follow a long-standing tradition of celebrating Parabs, which hold much religious and ritualistic significance. Attendees then feasted on traditional delicacies – sev, ravo, dar-ni-pori, fruits and dry fruits, in an atmosphere of camaraderie before partaking of a delicious lunch prepared by Kaizad Karkaria.
A note of thanks was also extended to Benifer Porus Irani for her continued commitment and services towards Auckland’s Zoroastrian Community. Preparations are now underway for another community celebration led by Benifer, to celebrate the Avan Yazad nu Parab, on 22nd March, at Cockle Bay.
