On the morning of 16^th April, 2023, Ushta-te Foundation’s ‘Zarathushti Awareness Group of Ahmedabad’ (ZAGA) organised its Annual Day Function 2022-23, titled ‘ZAGA Zest’, at the Lalkaka Hall of the Ahmedabad Sanatorium, in Gujarat. Over thirty-four ZAGA-ites attended the grand function, with Chief Guest – Brig. Jehangir Anklesaria (Retd), President, Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat (APP), alongside Meher Medora – Founding Trustee, ZAGA, and senior Trustee – Shirin Kanga.

The program started with prayers and a Monajat as children shared their knowledge of ‘Parsi-panu’, discussing various Parsi personalities. Next, followed talented displays of a fun Parsi song – ‘Enu Naam Chhe Bawaji’; Poem – ‘Atash’ enacted by tots about worshipping Ahura Mazda; choreographed dances, an informative quiz and a thought-provoking dance performance depicting academic stress and trauma children undergo.

The Chief Guest shared an inspirational speech about the importance of team spirit and applauded the efforts put in for the success of the function, under the astute leadership of Pervin Watchmaker and the hard work of volunteers and participants. Shirin Kanga gave the vote of thanks with a special shout-out to the dynamic ZAGA team – Pervin Watchmaker, Perin Unwala, Roshan Rao, Kety Daruwla, Dilshad Guard, Ruzeen Daruwla, Khushnum Solai, Roshni Sauhna,Shernaz Gandhi and Delnaz Jokhi. The day ended on a tasty note, with scrumptious lunch.
