Having proven her winning proficiency as a veteran marathoner and sprinter, Khurshid Mistry recently dove into the swimming arena, and not surprisingly, has been tasting much victory here as well!! Having bagged an impressive three gold medals in her age category, at the ‘National Masters Swimming Championship, 2024’, organized by the Nashik District Aquatic Association, just a couple months ago in October, Khurshid has resurfaced with more wins, wowing all at the Maharashtra State Masters Games Championship 2024 (Swimming). Also held in Nasik, on 14th and 15th December, 2024, Khurshid scored another 3-Gold medal bounty, in the 50 mts ‘Free-Style’, ‘Breast-Stroke’ and ‘Back-Stroke’ categories, in her age-group.

“The most challenging part of this competition was swimming in ice cold water,” shared an elated Khurshid. “Just a month back, I had won 3 Gold medals in the same events in the National swimming Championship which was also held at Nasik. I am so happy that in place of running, which I am presently unable to do due to my knee injury, I am doing swimming so well in such a short span of time,” she added. This would be only her second swimming competition that she has participated in, so far.

Having commenced her serious pursuit of athletics at age 44, Khurshid Mistry stands out as one of the most inspirational athletes of our community. A professional in the financial sector, Khurshid Mistry is known for her innumerable achievements in marathon running, for which she even holds a Guinness World Record and was awarded ‘Best Female Athlete’ at the National Corporate Championships in 2015. Kudos to Khurshid’s continued winning streak – on land and in water!
