Dear Readers,
It’s been an interesting, news-packed week for the Community. First the good, no wait, the GREAT news! The Community is thrilled to celebrate the fabulous cricketing performance of Arzan Nagwaswalla scalping a fabulous five wickets (for 78), against Mumbai’s seasoned middle-order batsmen, bringing immense joy to Team Gujarat and even more pride to our overjoyed Community! Though there is no real Parsi presence in Indian cricket today, India’s very first cricket team to play First Class cricket on Indian soil and overseas, was an All-Parsi team, making us Bawajis pioneers of Indian cricket. But, more than reason to celebrate, Arzan serves as an inspiration to our youth and resuscitates hope of reviving the Parsi cricketing glory and legacy.
In other news, the lifting of the Stay on MMRCL’s tunneling activity has dampened the spirits of many Community members who believe this will result in the structural and spiritual desecration of our Atash Behrams. The legal representatives have decided to approach the Supreme Court. To keep abreast of all the latest updates as they unveil, follow PT’s popular Facebook page: facebook.com/parsi.times.
Have a good weekend!
