India Wins 2nd T20 V/s Sri Lanka: The bowlers impressed, as Man of the Match Navdeep Saini picked (2-18), speedster Shardul Thakur picked (3-23) and Kuldeep Yadav snapped (2-38), helping India win its second encounter against the visiting Sri Lankan side, by seven wickets at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Batting first, the Lankan Lions notched up 142-9 in 20 overs as wicketkeeper Kusal Perera top scored with 34 while Avishka Fernando made 22 and Danushka Gunathilaka contributed 20. The Indian bowling attack proved to be spot on, never allowing any of the opposition batsmen to unleash and score big. In reply, the men in blue chased down the total comfortably, getting 144-3 in 17.3 overs. The opening pair of KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan got off to a flyer, giving Indian a 71 run first wicket stand. The former scored 45 off 32 while the latter made 32 in 29. Batting at number three Shreyas Iyer also contributed 34 while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 30 off 17 with one boundary and a six while Rishabh Pant was not out on 1. Hasaranga picked (2-30) in his four overs.

The following day, Chelsea were the better team on the given day winning 2-0 V/s Nottingham Forest, Barnsley won 3-1 with Crewe Alexandra, Queens Park Rangers thrashed Swansea City 5-1, Northampton Town won 4-1 V/s Burton Albion, Liverpool too outplayed Everton 1-0 and finally West Ham United won with Gillingham 2-0.

Serena Williams In WTA Quarter-Final: Tennis star Serena Williams beat fellow American Christina McHale in the WTA Auckland Classic Tournament to get into the Quarter Finals. After losing the first set 3-6, she came back strongly taking the next two 6-2, 6-3 in a stiff encounter.

PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal In Quarter Finals: Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal produced scintillating performances to move into the women’s singles’ quarter-finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500 Badminton Tournament in Kuala Lumpur. Sixth seed PV Sindhu won 21-10, 21-15 against Japan’s Aya Ohori while Saina beat South Korea’s An Se Young 25-23, 21-12 after a thrilling 39-minute clash.
