On April 4th, 2021, the vibrant members of the Zoroastrian Association of California (ZAC) kept the age-old tradition alive of visiting the sea and praying to revere Ava Yazad, by reciting prayers and offering sugar and milk to the waters. The group met at Sunset Beach (Huntington Beach) in CA. It was heartwarming to see Parsis in this ‘Jarthosti tolo’ participating in, and reciting Faraziyat prayers followed, by Avan Ardavisur Niyaesh and a Hum-Bandagi, led by Er. Zarrir Bhandara.

The group included FEZANA Treasurer and ZAC President – Rooky Fitter and husband Khusroo Fitter; ZAC Secretary – Dr. Burjor Santoke; IT Co-Chair, FEZANA – Dr. Hanoz Santoke; Past ZAC President – Dolly Malva; Roda Mubaraki, Jimmy and Rukshana Colabewalla; Cyrus Khavarian, Aban Kapadia, Gulcheher Rustomi, Freny Bacha, Varun Dadabhoy, Ketty Alamshaw and Er. Zarrir Bhandara. The prayers concluded with a pot-luck and hot tea served at Khushroo and Rooky Fitter’s home.
