ZYA Poona Organises Fun Picnic

Pune’s Zoroastrian Youth Association (ZYA) held a fun, one-day picnic (conceptualized by Mabrin Nanavatti and Farah Khambatta) at Meher Farms, Pawana, earlier this month, with a spirited group of 50 young adults, in the 16-35 age-range. It kicked off with everyone gathering at the J J Agiary at 7:00 am to catch the ride to Pawana, which was filled with laughter and merriment, with a delightful Parsi breakfast of ‘pora-pav’.

At Meher Farms, a series of icebreakers and games organized by Behnaz M. Nanavatti helped break the ice, to get in the mood for a fun game of volleyball in the swimming pool. This was followed by a sumptuous lunch and more games keeping alive the fun, excitement and laughter.  The scenic route back to Poona showcased a panarama of waterfalls and the view of Pawna Dam, where participants were treated to vada-pavs and Kayani Bakery biscuits.

ZYA extends thanks to Anjali and Meher Irani for their warm welcome at Meher Farms, Kayani bakery, Penosh transport services and The Food Gallery for their support. ZYA Poona thus continues fulfilling its aim of encouraging Zoroastrians to connect and engage with other young Zarthostis!
