On 25^th December, 2024, the Pune-based Asha Vahishta Dadgah Saheb celebrated the completion of its 7^th anniversary of enthronement of the Holy Fire. A thanksgiving huma-anjuman Jashan was performed by five Mobeds, followed by Humbandagi prayers by the gathered devotees. A contributory Maachi was also offered to the Dadgah Saheb in the Havan geh. As always, the Dadgah Hall was packed with devotees who received chasni post the Jashan.

Over the last seven years, Asha Vahishta Dadgah has fulfilled the religious and spiritual needs of inter-married Parsis and other Zoroastrians. It is a place of worship and venue solely for Zoroastrian social and religious ceremonies, such as navjotes, weddings, jashan, maachis, and the four-day obsequies funeral prayers for those who opt for burial or cremation, which non-Parsi family and friends can attend.

Asha Vahishta Dadgah has been fulfilling the main aim of ‘inclusion’, by providing a dignified alternative to the Parsi/ Irani Zoroastrian families, with a special focus on inter-married Parsi population by including their non-Parsi spouses, thus ensuring that a family is able to worship together, as one. Established in 2017, ‘Asha Vahishta – The Zoroastrian Center’, houses a community hall, a prayer hall, a library and a Dadgah fire. Located at Pune’s NIBM Road (Kondhwa), the Dadgah keeps its doors open to intermarried Parsis and their children, as also Zoroastrian enthusiasts who seek a greater understanding about the religion. Built over 5,500 square feet, the two-storeyed construction is open for visits 7 days a week, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The center has been receiving constant bookings to hold religious ceremonies. It is spearheaded by brothers Vispy and Kerssie Wadia, who aim to provide a dignified alternative to Parsi Zoroastrians who are excommunicated from entering religious places of worship.
