Robbery In 100-Year-Old Parsi Palace In Hansot

A burglary was reported at a 100-year-old Parsi palace, owned by Ghan Behram Edalji Palamkot, in Ilav village in Hansot taluka (Bharuch District, Gujarat State), where robbers stole cash and silver ornaments worth ₹1.36 lakh. The case has been registered by the Hansot Police and an investigation is underway. The palace had been unoccupied for the past year.

The Mumbai-based owner, Palamkot, had last visited the property when his brother lived there. But he moved his brother to Mumbai when he fell ill, leaving the palace vacant. On 29th January, 2025, Palamkot visited the palace to collect the keys but on opening the door, he discovered the house had been ransacked, with valuables missing. The burglars reportedly entered the palace by breaking in via a rear window, having looted cash worth Rs. 20,000/- and silver ornaments valued at Rs. 1.36 lakhs.

The Hansot police are examining possible leads to identify and apprehend the culprits.
