In a significant move to safeguard community property, over 100 members of the Poona Parsee Panchayat (PPP), led by Chairperson Adv. Marazban Irani, united to remove an unauthorized boundary unlawfully erected on sacred trust land in Lulla Nagar. The land, designated for the welfare of the Zoroastrian community, had been encroached upon despite a favorable ruling in a lower court.
For years, the community has faced persistent challenges, including unauthorized use of the land for garbage dumping and leaf disposal by local authorities and street sweepers. However, after a prolonged 25-year struggle, the resolute efforts of the current PPP board have renewed optimism for reclaiming and preserving this invaluable heritage.
Members of the community expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who actively participated in defending their sacred land, marking renewed commitment to protecting the legacy and interests of the Zoroastrian community in Poona.
