The Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI) is known for its consistent philanthropic activities to help sustain the lives and livelihood of the underprivileged of our community. One of its most popular ventures is its monthly ‘Feed-A-Family’ program where basic but necessary provisions are distributed to over 400 under-privileged Parsi/Irani individuals, which supports them by catering to their daily requirements of a monthly ration along with a lot of joy! Items given to the benefactors include food supplies like rice, pulses, sugar, tea, as well as items for daily use like washing powder, and also cash.

On 25th February, 2018, ZTFI held its monthly Feed-A-Family program at Cama Baug (small Otla), where alongside the monthly provisions, beneficiaries were pleasantly surprised with a lavish lunch buffet, which earned the praise of all the beneficiaries. Another generous aspect to the ‘Feed-A-Family’ program is the ‘Make My Wish’ lucky draw where winners are given gifts of their choosing – these include crockery, kitchen equipment, etc. This time additional lucky draws were given away, thanks to some of the kind donors. As always, the favourite part of the event is the ‘Cake Cutting’, a thoughtful and touching gesture by ZTFI, where a big cake is cut to celebrate the birthdays of all in that particular month. The occasion was graced this time by a number of donors in addition to ZTFI Trustees and Committee members.

Speaking to Parsi Times, ZTFI’s vivacious Trustee, Yasmin Mistry, known to spearhead the ZTFI Movement in 2009, said, “Our ‘Feed-A-Family’ program has been a most satisfying journey which started off with small steps of kindness, which have now become giant strides of generosity! It’s always Community First at ZTFI and this program is our most heart touching venture as we are privileged to be able to directly support our Community brethren and share moments of joy with them.”

Clearly, Team ZTFI has proven itself repeatedly as a group of dedicated people who believe in taking action. And with time, this philanthropic venture is successfully breaking all barriers to scale new heights of success – which they measure in the smiles and blessings they receive from an ever increasing number of the
beneficiaries.
