On 13 April, 2019, England-based Soonnie Godrej Talati turned a glorious hundred years, and amidst her long list of well-wishers who congratulated her on becoming a centenarian, was none other than Queen Elizabeth herself!! “I am so pleased to know that you are celebrating your one hundredth birthday on 13th April, 2019. I send my congratulations and best wishes to you on such a special occasion,” wrote Her Majesty The Queen, to our great dame Soonnie!
Malcolm Deboo, President, Zoroastrian Trust Funds of Europe, also shared a warm congratulatory message and ZTFE celebrated Soonnie Talati’s 100th birthday at the Zoroastrian Centre, during the Z Club on 18th April, 2019. Sonnie Talati was born in Mumbai to Dadiba and Bacha Mehta and attended the Parsee Tutorial High School. After her marriage to Godrej Talati in1947, the couple moved to Nairobi (Kenya) where she had four children, before settling in England (Middlesex) in 1968.
