Diniar Mehta’s ‘Dini Travels’ To Promote Iran Tourism

Diniar Darab Mehta, owner of the famous Dini Travels, President of Minority (Parsi) Cell and Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Colaba Vidhan Sabha, as well as a social worker, was invited by Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Tourism and Handicrafts to hold discussions various aspects, with the aim of promoting and developing Iran Tourism in India, via his organisation, ‘Dini Travels’, which is in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry, Govt. of Islamic Republic of Iran.

He met with Tourism Minister, Dr. Leila Ajdari – Minister & Director General for Marketing and International Tourism Development, at her official chamber, at Azadi Ave, in Tehran. Audio-visual shows were screened portraying Iranian culture, handicrafts, architecture, hill stations, pilgrimage and historical sightseeing places, etc. He also had meetings with Agha Ashori, Deputy Director General of Iran Cultural, Scientific & Relationship Ministry of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Diniar Mehta appreciated the Iranian Government’s initiative in issuing Paper Visas, doing away with the earlier procedure which required the immigration stamps on passports – this will be a boon for the Indians wanting to travel to Iran. Diniar also had a meeting with the only Zoroastrian Member of Parliament – Capt. Dr. E. Ekhtiyari, in his official chamber in Tehran. Capt. Dr. E. Ekhtiyari has assured his support, help and full cooperation whenever needed for Indian Zoroastrians traveling to Iran. Diniar also met with Dr. Azita Khorshedian, daughter of High Priest – Dr. Ardeshir Khorshedian, and a leading social worker.

As always, he visited the holy Zoroastrian Shrine – Pir-e-Sabz during it annual Jashan ceremony. “Overall, it has been a wonderful experience to be able to meet all these truly committed and friendly professionals who wish to foster and promote India-Iran ties through tourism. I am humbled and grateful to be able to be a part of this venture, which means so much to our community as it increases the connect with our original motherland,” said Diniar Mehta
