Bulsar Parsi Anjuman organised a grand function on 23^rd February, 2025, to felicitate two Gujarat-based Parsi stalwarts who have been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri Awards – Dr. Yazdi Italia known for his pioneering work in the field of Sickle Cell Anemia, and iconic theatre personality – Yazdi Karanjia. An audience of over 400 people were present came to honour these two community stalwarts. Chief Guests – Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastur of Iranshah Udvada and BPP and WAPIZ Trustee – Anahita Yazdi Desai, presided as Chief Guests.

Roshan Chothia and Sanobar Shroff gracefully compared the event, which commenced with a Humbandagi led by Panthaki Er. Porus Mistry, followed by the Chief Guests and Bulsar Anjuman Trustees lighting the ceremonial diva. Managing Trustee Sam Chothia welcomed and felicitated the dignitaries while Trustee Er. Aspi Sanjana introduced the Chief Guests Anahita Desai and Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor who addressed the audience and congratulated the Padma Shri recipients for their outstanding achievements and contribution to society and for being honoured by the Government for their decades of service.

Sam Chothia then read out the resolutions, felicitating Dr. Yazdi Italia and Shri Yazdi Karanjia. Enthralling the audience with his characteristic humour and wit, Shri Yazdi Karanjia shared inspiring nuggets about his 5-decade-long journey in which he performed with his dynamic troupe across the world. Dr. Italia spoke of Sickle Cell Disease and his pioneering research as also the support given to the tribals by the GoI to combat this disease.

WAPIZ and some South Gujarat Anjumans like Chikhli Anjuman, Bilimora Anjuman, Daman Vapi Anjuman, Pardi Anjuman, Vyara Anjuman, Davier Anjuman, Sanajan Memorial Trust and Mahuva Anjuman also felicitated both dignitaries. Trustee Bomi Mehrnosh gave the vote of thanks. The event concluded with a delicious dinner catered by Soonu Kasad.
