Royal Opera House: Royal Opera House, also known as Opera House in Mumbai, is India’s only surviving opera house, which is situated at Charni Road. The Royal Opera House was conceived in 1908 by a famous entertainer, Maurice Bandmann and Jehangir Framji Karaka, who headed a coal brokers’ firm, and was inaugurated in the year 1912. Initially, the house was used strictly for staging operas, and catered exclusively to the city’s elite British officials, Europeans and mostly Indian Parsis.
